At Moyo, everything we do is for people who love their pets as much as their pets love them.

Our pets mean the world to us. They are the source of unparalleled and unadulterated love, tenderness and joy in our lives. We set out to return their love in equal measure with Moyo. Among the Chewa folk of Malawi, Africa, Moyo translates to something that means life-health-soul. It is the exact essence of what we wanted to create for our pets.

Our desire to create Moyo stems from personal experiences and expectations. Like many of us, we too had been feeding homecooked food to our pets. But as occurrences of dermatitis and gastro came up, we were painfully made aware that homecooked food, while prepared with care and affection is not nutritionally complete and balanced. 

The solution, was kibble that is widely available in the market. As responsible pet-parents, reading and understanding the label meant learning that meat-meals are not the same as real meat and that the standards for the ingredients that go in pet food leave a lot to be desired. The ingredient list at the back resembles a chemistry textbook more than a food recipe.

We could not accept that these were our only options, and decided to create something that combined the convenience of store-bought kibble with the care and tenderness of a meal prepared at home, while still being a nutritious meal.

We have only used ingredients that are fit for human consumption, and those that we are familiar with and grown up eating all along. We will never add anything to our food that isn’t good enough to be consumed by us. We wanted to ensure that the sources of nutrition are not just rich, but also diverse. Which is why our ingredient list is so long and filled with nutritionally dense ingredients. Moyo retains the purity and gentleness of a home cooked meal with convenient usage and stable storage, while still being the most nutritious food on the market.
